The following is a brief interview we arranged between the BMB and Henry Northmore from The List magazine in March 2005.

> Dance music loves pigeonholes how would you describe your sound?

Manly

> Do you still crave intensity in your sound?

Yeah

> What first led you to working together?

S : We had worked together for 10 years with Downwards etc. but not as a musical project before BMB. It was inevitable really.

R : it would have been better to work together 8 years ago in terms of our sales potential, however we have never made music for the marketplace, I think you can tell that by the music we release.

> Is it a very different creative process?

Yes, we often have fights in the studio, but that's when most of the best vocal work gets done.

> What drew you to electronic music in the first place (over conventional
> guitars etc)?

S : I've just always been attracted to electronic music, I can't explain why. Guitars can be OK when they make interesting sounds

> What do you think of the state of the techno scene these days?

S : I stopped paying attention years ago.

> Do you prefer live sets to DJing?

S : Hmmm... I regard Djing as taking pre recorded music, manipulating and recombining it and presenting it to an audience. So what we present as BMB is still Djing to me. But I'll let some other people argue that one out who really should get out more.

R : Status Quo are a great live act.

> What can we expect on the night?

S : A drunken and abusive Regis and hopefully some noise (if we're allowed this time)

R : the second and third coming within the space of 3 hours.

> What's next for Surgeon & Regis?
